Plans for the New Year

COFFEE MORNINGS:-
These run on a drop-in basis and are open to any woman who has been diagnosed at any time with a gynae cancer. Many women bring along a friend, daughter or Mum when they come for the first time, it’s a good way of getting to know a bit about what COPES does.

The Coffee Mornings start at 10.00 and usually go on until 12.30-13.00.

They are usually held in the Women’s Clinic, Nightingale Centre at Southend Hospital, subject to confirmation.

They are on the first Saturday of each month: –
Jan 5th; Feb 2nd; March 2nd; April 6th; May 4th; June 1st.

Thanks

Without our trusty team of the admin sub-committee, COPES couldn’t function as it does. I’m sure we all realise how much work goes into the organisation of a charity: all the events, treats and communications with the hospital staff, the fundraising and allocating money to projects. As chair, Wendy D does a general role, doing newsletters, representing COPES at Parliamentary APPG meetings and other events and attending meetings on behalf of COPES. Sue does a fabulous job with all the organisation and admin, combining secretary, communication, fundraising and financial monitoring at the moment. Chris is a wonderful vice- chair and has been instrumental in organising many events, representing COPES on Essex and Eastern Region patient groups and supporting and checking what goes on. Chris and Sue stood in for Wendy D on many occasions last year, while Wendy was dealing with family events. We all work together very closely and are assisted by Rosemary, Stacey and Jackie on specific projects and events. As the admin sub-committee, we are always looking at ways to involve more members and increase the support that we can give through COPES. Please let us know if you can help in any way or if you have any ideas of expanding what we do. We are here to help! Check in on www.copescharity.co.uk
