2018. A GREAT YEAR!

We’ve had a busy year at COPES with several spectacular events and some major fundraising initiatives. The highly successful Dinner Dance; the Wellbeing Day; the Football Match; the link with a local charity – Ambulance Transfers; the Family Fun Day; the raffles, sales and tombola; the Coffee Mornings; the Afternoon Teas and the Pottery Painting. They’ve all been great fun to join in with.

I think we’ve had our best year yet with fundraising, raising funds towards the Venezia Applicator, a piece of equipment designed to make treatment more effective, faster and more comfortable for ladies with cervical cancer. We’ve also seen the realisation of the Tranquillity Room, a calm space to have consultations, results and feedback on test results and treatment options. This is part of the hysteroscopy suite in the Women’s Clinic, where other equipment has been funded by COPES in the past. The Health and Wellbeing Day was also sponsored by COPES and is possibly going to be a regular fixture on our calendar. Many thanks to the CNS team for this highly enjoyable and useful day.

Thanks!

We would like to thank the managers of the Oncology Clinic and the Women’s Clinic, both of whom have given us a place to meet and hold our monthly Coffee Mornings.

We also thank our volunteer therapists, who do such a brilliant job with providing calm, healing therapies. Your skills are much appreciated.
We wonder where would we be without our brilliant team of CNSs? They are always there for us whenever we need an understanding ear or a bit of reassuring advice.

There a vital part of the success of COPES.

We wouldn’t be able to do all that we do without the Consultants and the Fundraising Unit, who help, support and guide the administrative sub-committee and form the fundraising committee.

It’s been good to support each other through the challenging times and celebrate the good times.

We look forward to the New Year and wish you a good festive season.

From us all at COPES xx

Our Big Night Out

We are returning to the Roslin Beach Hotel for our Dinner Dance. It’s a wonderful evening of delicious food, a few drinks, raffle, disco and lots of fun and chat. Book early to avoid disappointment.
