COPES FEBRUARY NEWS 2019

  • Come along to the Coffee Morning. Feb 2nd in the Women’s Clinic at Southend Hospital. Drop in any time from 10.00-13.00. Have a chat about what you would like to see in the future events and activities of COPES at about 11.00 before the raffle.
  • Tell us what you want, what you really, really want…… (apologies to the Spice Girls) We love organising events for you at COPES. We have the Dinner Dance coming up and an awareness day in March. What else do you enjoy from our regular programme of events (Clay Cottage Pottery afternoons, Afternoon Tea, Impressions Accessories, chair tai chi, chair yoga, bring and buy sales……anything else you’d like?) We’re planning a walk and pub lunch in Old Leigh, lunch at ‘Food by John Lawson’, a talk about U3A, an Awareness Raising Day for gymae cancers in March. Do let us know what you’d like
  • Registers. We’ve been asked why we need to do a register when we have coffee mornings. It’s for Health and Safety (in the unlikely event of a fire!) and it’s also for us to keep an eye on who is able to come to coffee meetings so that we can drop a line to anyone who may be feeling under the weather.
  • Why do we need your help? There are a few of us who do the main organisation for COPES, we love to be able to do this but sometimes family life gets in the way. One of those times is now, for a couple of people on the organising sub-committee. It would be so helpful if there were people who we could call on for a bit of help, say, for example, storing items that we need for COPES events, helping out at awareness events, attending a meeting occasionally to represent patient’s wishes.
  • It’s all about you, so give us your ideas and, if you can spare it, a little bit of your time!
