EXCITING COMMITTEE NEWS
Our founders, Mr. Razvi and Emma Chaplin have agreed to become our formal COPES Patrons. This means that, in the future, we will be putting COPES in a better position for gaining grants and seeking support from other agencies.

We’re still awaiting a date for our ‘Beads on Sea Beading Workshop & buffet lunch. This will now probably be in early 2027 and will cost £30 for COPES members and guests, to include all materials, instruction and lunch. We’ll update you when we have fixed a date.
ESSEX IOTA ADNEX Primary Care Pilot
COPES is pleased to be working alongside Essex hospitals (Southend initially) and Target Ovarian Cancer to help to develop patient information for an innovative new ovarian diagnostic pathway being piloted in Essex.
The project focuses on the first transvaginal ultrasound scan that women may have, following referral from their GP. This will investigate early symptoms. We hope that this will rule out cases which are not likely to be ovarian cancer, cutting down on waiting times and unnecessary anxiety for women at low risk, whilst speeding up referrals that need looking into more quickly. We really hope that this will improve the early experiences for women in checking for possible ovarian cancers.
COPES will be involved in a presentation, via a webinar, for GPs so that they can help in speeding up the process of diagnosing suspect ovarian cysts. If you’d like to know more, please contact Wendy on 07546316735.
