COPES September NEWS 2022
COPES SEPTEMBER SUPPORT GROUP/COFFEE MORNING
This will be at the Ekco Sports and Social Club (SS2 6PU) on Saturday September 3rd from 10.00. This runs on a drop-in basis.
News from the CNS team about a COPES supported CNS course
In July the CNS team was fortunate to be able to attend the British Gynaecological Cancer Society (BGCS) annual scientific meeting. The conference was held at Stanford Bridge, the grounds of Chelsea Football Club. It was quite surreal lunching in the terraces. Literally in the terraces! No private boxes available! It was actually quite comical seeing many esteemed colleagues across the country with lunch boxes in their laps!
There was a very structured, full programme of speakers who were presenting their own research or speaking on treatments such as immunotherapy and PARP inhibitors or presentations on lynch syndrome and diversity. There was also an innovative discussion on pre habilitation. We listened to amazing Doctors and trainees opening even more possibilities in the future for treatment options and results from treatment already being administered with reassuring results.
We were also humbled by Professor Leslie Walwyn Associate Dean for Global Health, American University of Antigua College of Medicine. Currently, she leads the Global Health Track (GHT) at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine The GHT’s goal is to enhance awareness about vulnerable populations and produce skilled physicians who will impact communities and organizations globally and improve health outcomes. She, among many things, is passionate about cervical cancer prevention and control.
The CNS team would like to thank COPES for supporting their ongoing professional education.
Thinking of you xx
We hope this finds you well and that you’re enjoying some cooler days. Our thoughts go to all those members who are not feeling too well and who are receiving various types of treatment and care, in hospices, hospital or at home. We may no longer see you at our COPES Coffee Mornings, but we think of you often and send you our very best wishes.
