COPES May NEWS 2022

OUR MAY Coffee Morning/Support Group is on Saturday May 7th, from 10 am at The Ekco Sports and Social Club, Thornford Gardens, Southend. SS2 6PU. All members are most welcome. Support, chat, relaxation session, raffle……fun!

CELEBRATE! JUNE SUPPORT GROUP WITH A RED, WHITE & BLUE THEME on Saturday June 4th.

On the Agenda for our AGM and Fundraising Committee Meeting.

Due to recent changes to the charity Fundraising Unit at the MSE hospitals, we have been working with the team there to gain more financial independence for COPES. We are in the process of setting up our own donations page, purely for COPES donations and separate from the hospital’s general fundraising charity page. We will bring you more details as soon as we can, but, in the meantime, if anyone wishes to make a donation to COPES, it is best done by Bank Transfer, please. We have our own Barclays charity bank account. Full details from COPES11.05@gmail.com

We are also updating our Website www.copescharity.co.uk, so please be patient while we work on these changes. Do let us know if you have any suggestions as to what would be useful info to have on the website. Thank you.

A wonderful afternoon was had recently at Clay Cottage. Everyone really enjoyed the pottery painting and the afternoon tea. Some stunning pottery was created. The event raised £210 for COPES funds. We’re planning another one on October 15th, so watch out for Christmas present opportunities.

FUN FUNDRAISING EVENING!

Louise N (member) is kindly organising a QUIZ NIGHT on Friday June 10th. The funds raised are all for COPES. It will be from 7.00 pm at the EKCO Sports and Social Club, Thorndon Gardens. SS2 6PU. Contact us for details, and get booking a table of 6-8 friends and family or join in with a group of COPES friends. We’ll be there!   Get in touch via this email for tickets (£5 each) Full details in June’s Newsletter.

New COPES event idea!

How would you like to attend a COPES singing/song-writing session? Refreshments supplied. Free for COPES members. You don’t have to have any previous experience of singing or writing. Everyone is guaranteed to go home with their own song, or we could do a group effort…

…….our own COPES song!

A fun, supportive session with Nicola Collis, a wonderful local teacher of singing & song-writing. We guarantee the session would be full of laughter, light-hearted, thought-provoking, reflective, most of all, good fun. Those of us who saw Nicola at a recent COPES event were very impressed.

Please respond in person, on May 7th, via email or cut out the table below and send to Wendy Davies, 7, Park Gardens, Hockley Essex. SS5 4HE             Thank You!
