COPES April NEWS 2020

We sincerely hope that you and yours are well in these strange times.

It won’t be a huge surprise to you that we are suspending our COPES face-to-face activities, including the Dinner Dance and Coffee Mornings, in line with Government and Hospital guidelines because of the Covid-19 virus.

Do keep in touch and let us know how you’re getting on.

If you’re on Facebook, our private, confidential group is on Facebook. Search for COPES, Essex Gynaecological Cancer Support. Please answer the questions though. We only admit patients to the group, as it’s just like a COPES support group meeting.
We’re also on Twitter @COPES19952078
Our contact emails are at the top of your email.

If you have booked Dinner Dance tickets, Sue and I are getting in touch with you to arrange a refund. If you don’t hear from us, please get in touch.

The Coffee Mornings are suspended for the time being.

Coffee Morning

It was lovely to welcome Deb from the hospital counselling service, to our March Coffee Morning. We hope to be working with her to develop some support pages for our website in the future. Do check the website and let me know ideas to improve it.

We’re in the situation that she was talking about at the moment, I reckon….She highlighted:- a loss of control of the situation; a lack of choice about what we can do; a change of perspective; a loss of our old life. So what do we do?

Follow Deb’s advice…… TALK TO FRIENDS by email and phone, TALK to COPES by phone, email, Facebook, Twitter, keep in touch. We’re still here.Just a quick chat can make things feel better.

If anyone feels like a natter, just call me or Sue If we can’t chat at the time, we’ll call you back. Leave a message to say who you are though. I don’t want to call someone back who’s trying to sell me solar panels.

We’ll get through all this and laugh about it. Just think of the Coffee Morning Party we’ll have when we get back to normal………..whatever ‘normal’ is!
