COPES July NEWS 2022
OUR JULY COFFEE MORNING/SUPPORT GROUP is on Saturday July 2nd at the Ekco Club (SS2 6PU) from 10.00.
We welcome new members, with a friend if you wish, or those previous members who haven’t yet joined us in our lovely new venue.
The Women’s Clinic is now unavailable for the foreseeable future, due to use for medical appointments.
JUNE EVENTS
What a lively month June turned out to be……A special Jubilee Coffee Morning, a fabulous fundraising Quiz Night and a mellow Mindfulness Morning.
Our thanks go to the organisers and all who attended these events. The Quiz Night was organised by member Louise Nariel, who was helped by her family. Well done Louise. It was a really well-organised event and raised a fabulous £527 for COPES funds. Such an enjoyable, light-hearted evening, attended by around 60 people and won by a COPES team!
The Mindfulness Morning was sponsored by our long term member Jan with some of the donations from her four Brave-Shaves (before her various chemos). We were so thrilled to have Jan as a special guest with her friend Barbs. It was something that all who attended found really useful. The session was very ably led by Donna Pieper, from Basildon’s Macmillan Centre and was followed by a delicious lunch in the 1935 Rooftop Restaurant in The Holiday Inn, Southend.
Coming Soon
We look forward to seeing Caroline and her calming relaxation session again in August.
Watch out for more fun events, coming up in October and November.
- October 15th Clay Cottage Pottery Painting and afternoon tea for an opportunity to paint some unique Christmas presents. Details to be published soon.
- We look forward to welcoming Nicola Collis, singer/songwriter to our November Coffee Morning on November 5th.
- Our Christmas Bazaar is planned for December 3rd. We have much more space for stalls now at the Ekco Club, so if you or any contacts, would like a stall, or have any ideas for stalls, please let the exec committee know.
If there are any events that COPES members would like to see organised, or repeated, please let us know. We aim to give you all support but also organise enjoyable activities. We know that a gynae cancer diagnosis isn’t something we’d choose but we aim to have as much fun as we can, during and after treatment.
