COPES January NEWS 2022
NEW YEAR ~ NEW VENUE!
We’re delighted to let you know that our January Coffee Morning will be on Saturday January 8th from 10.00 a.m. at the Ekco Social and Sports Club, Thornford Gardens, Southend. SS2 6PU. We’re in a private room (the ‘Darts Room’) just off the Member’s Bar. There is ample parking and it’s a very comfortable venue. We are trying it out for our January and February Coffee Mornings (COVID permitting)
It’s not far from Cuckoo Corner, A127. From Cuckoo corner go towards the airport, on A1159, which is Manners Way. Thornford Gardens is just off Manners Way.
A big thank you to all who came to our last Support Group and Bazaar. We raised around £91.38. It was great to welcome our members back and to meet 3 new members. It was a lovely afternoon full of chat and laughter. Thanks to Alison, the CNS whose calm presence we always welcome, also thanks to Dee, Sandra Grey (COPES members) and Debbie for running stalls and donating generously from them. It was also lovely to meet Emily, who helped out and took some photos. She is doing her D of E award (volunteering) with us.
FUNDRAISING THROUGH THE CHEMO!
Well done to Jan for her 4th ‘Jan’s Shave’. So far she has raised £305, this time, but she is still expecting some money to come in. You can still donate by bank transfer or by cheque (COPES Gynae Oncology Support).

And thanks for a magnificent donation, received from new member Louise, who, with her daughter Katie, raised a fabulous £404 for COPES with their Christmas Raffle.
As we enter 2022, we would like to wish all the very best to members who are not able to get to our COPES get-togethers at the moment. We often think of you and we’re in touch with many of you by phone/email. We’re also occasionally in touch with Margaret, Sally, Rosemary, Lynfa, Phyl & Jan, who are still very much involved with COPES and love hearing the latest COPES news from members.
