COPES December NEWS 2020

A Very Happy Christmas From Us All At COPES!

It’s been a year like no other but we wish you happiness, health, a restful holiday…….a time of peace. Happy Christmas.

If you’re missing our shopping trip at the Christmas Fayre, this year, why not look online at Donna’s lovely accessories and clothes. She’s got a new website
www.bowjanglesboutique.com

Donna has been giving generously to COPES for many years and is a good friend with some lovely goods online.

Maybe your feet deserve a pampering treat?

Beverly Wright, COPES member and qualified podiatrist, has been doing free treats at COPES Coffee Mornings for some months now. She can’t offer free treats at her business, of course but can maybe help COPES members. All treatments are an individual’s own choice and can be discussed with Bev.

Bev says ‘I successfully opened my Clinic in June after the national lock down, and have been welcoming new patients since then.

I will put something together to offer a discount to COPES ladies, as well as being happy to collect money for COPES.

I am classed by the government as an essential worker. So, I’m allowed to work through all tier levels, with full PPE and risk assessments, if anyone has problems with their feet and needs foot treatment or products, reflexology, and a bit of a chat during that time, etc. This hopefully help people, especially in these dreadful times.

My clinic is Solespirits Chiropody and Podiatry Clinic, Tudor Mews, 2A West Street, Prittlwell, Southend-On-Sea, Essex. SS2 6HJ. Telephone 01702 338258 or Mobile 07947435114.’

Don’t Forget Our Zoom Coffee Morning On Sat December 5th At 10.00

We will have 2 x 40 minute sessions on Saturday. One starting at 10:00 – 10:40, then we will start again at 10:45 – 11:25.

At some stage during the morning Jan is very eager to raise funds for COPES by having a “ZOOM Brave Shave2”. It is likely to be just after we start the second session at about 11:00. We hope you will be able to support her but understand if you cannot.

All other Zoom meetings for 2021 will be as normal, at 10:00 on Coffee morning dates
(first Saturday of the month) …………until we can go back to meeting in person.

Sad News

It is with great sadness that I have to let you know of the passing of Caroline Walker. Caroline was a great help in our COPES support and fundraising. She helped Beverly Wright with the foot care pampering sessions at some of our Coffee Mornings and always donated wonderfully generously to COPES raffles, including the Grand Dinner Dance Raffle. Caroline was a much valued and respected member of COPES. We’ll always remember her calm, helpful manner. We’ll miss her.

We send our sincere sympathies to Caroline’s family and friends. There is a Just Giving page on our website in Caroline’s memory, set up by family.
