COPES IN JULY

Well done to Stacey and Leianne for running a hugely successful Fun Day on June 24th. They generously split the profit between COPES and Target Ovarian Cancer.

Thank you so much!

Watch out for next year’s extravaganza!

Sue, Pat, Wendy D and Leianne had a successful day’s awareness raising and fundraising in the Fundraising Unit on June 30th. Pat was reprising her role as ace Tombola Queen, COPES goods and new/nearly new clothes sold well and Leianne’s Mum’s cards were selling like hot cakes!

COFFEE MORNING DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

  • August- Summer New and Nearly New clothes and Accessories Sale.
  • September- Autumn New and Nearly New clothes and accessories.
  • October – Pottery Painting and Afternoon Tea.

We also want to say a huge high five to Donna of ‘Impressions Accessories’, for her donation of around £1000. She abseiled down the hospital tower, and she’s afraid of heights! What a girl! We presented Donna with ‘a lovely orchid in COPES colours, to say thank you for her donation to COPES after her abseil down the hospital tower. She and her friend raised around £1000.

“Coffee Morning up-date news:-
It was so lovely to see Beverley and Christine looking and feeling so much better. Great to see Hazel, too, who dropped in, to say goodbye. Good luck with your move to Lincolnshire, Hazel! Hazel has been a COPES committee member and has helped with many fundraisers. We wish you and your family all the best. Thanks for all your support.
We also wish Margaret all the best with her back operation later this month. We hope we’ll see you again soon, feeling fitter and stronger, Margaret. Also wishing lovely Val all the best, we’re all thinking of you, Val.

It was great to see Jan who does such relaxing massages. Our thanks, too, to our new massage/reiki therapist, Yuen. We were spoiled with two great therapists today. Your help is always so very much appreciated.
It was wonderful to see Emma, too. There’s always a warm welcome for Emma at coffee mornings.
We wish Louise Piper all the best, as it was probably her last Coffee Morning until after she returns from maternity leave. Her baby is due in October. All the best, Lou, and thank you for all your care for us COPES ladies.
Our thanks also to Chris Charlesworth who gave a really interesting talk on gynae-urinary problems and continence. Thank you to Chris.”

And finally…………We Need your ideas:- WHAT SHOULD COPES BE FUNDRAISING FOR & SAVING UP FOR NEXT? Ideas to any committee member please! Thank you.
