A BIG COPES THANK YOU
We were surprised and delighted to receive a wonderful donation from Capital Goldwings motorcycle group, via the committee at the Ekco Sports and Social Club last month.
The group had their annual gathering at the Ekco Club and donated a wonderful sum of £360 to COPES. Our sincere thanks to all at the Capital Wings group, and to Jaime at the Ekco Club, who raised awareness of COPES with the Goldwings group.
FANCY A LOVELY ENTERTAINING SUNDAY BRUNCH?
Chris, our vice chair, is organising a fabulous Lunch, at The Cliffs Pavilion, an immersive experience with live entertainment – A Carpenters Tribute act.
Sunday December 14th from 11.30 am. This will be offered to COPES members and guests, although numbers may be limited. COPES members will pay a special subsidised price of £20 and any guests will pay the full rate of £45. The food promises to be delicious and, if you’re a fan of 60s music and the Carpenters, the entertainment will be memorable. Payment will be required with all bookings. Bookings are taken at any COPES event or by email – COPES11.05@gmail.com. Payments by Bank Transfer, reference ‘CARPENTERS’ or by cheque. Payment details on request.

By now, many of you will have had experience of the new parking payment system at Southend and Basildon Hospitals.
- It seems more logical, in that you pay as you leave, so no more guessing how long you’ll have to wait for that appointment.
- There is number plate recognition, you just drive in and park (if you can find a space!). On leaving, you enter your car number plate in the machine near the main entrance and pay by cash, card or via an app called TRUST. All details are on the MSE Hospitals website.
- The first 30 minutes is free – If you stay over this time you will need to purchase a ticket otherwise you will be charged.
- Up to 2 hours £3.10
- Up to 3 hours £4.00
- Up to 5 hours £5.00
- Up to 6 hours £6.00
- Over 6 hours £10.00.
This applies all year-round including weekends and Bank Holidays.
Blue Badge holders – Parking is free if you are a Blue Badge holder. Please register your vehicle, using the details in the Blue Badge section on the MSE Hospitals website.
