A Donation from COPES
We were delighted to hear from the CNS team that the Examination Chair has now been delivered to the Gynae Oncology Clinic. This makes the process of
examinations much more comfortable for patients undergoing diagnosis and treatment. Our thanks to all those people who have donated to COPES to make this purchase possible, We are so grateful for all the donations, fundraisers and bequests, given before and during the COVID pandemic. Thank you to Liz and the CNS team, also the Fundraising Unit team, for all their hard work in getting the orders placed for this.
GETTING TOGETHER NEWS——-
Sue, Chris and Wendy have met with the hospital Fundraising and Finance Teams. We have been told that, due to COVID, all in-house coffee mornings will not be possible for the foreseeable future, maybe until 2022. We have decided that, to get back to our usual monthly face to face Saturday Coffee Mornings, another venue would need to be found, to tide us over this time. A strong contender is St Peter’s Church hall which is close to the hospital. The limited parking facilities there may be a problem as other groups use the premises on Saturday mornings, but it’s about a five minute walk from the hospital car park. The venue is available to us should we choose to book it. Let us know what you think. We were hoping to get back to our regular meetups by Sat October 2nd. If anyone has any other suggestions for a venue for these mornings please contact us, but please remember that it must have adequate loo facilities, a kitchen for the making of refreshments, it must also be close to a bus route and have parking facilities on site or close by.
We are also looking for a comfortable venue to hold our Welcome Back get together. We are intending to get some catering provided for this, so any venue chosen must be suitable for this as well. Maybe a café, pub or hotel. It will be free for all COPES members, new and not-so-new! Details to follow.
